Study Trip on New Model of Rural Revitalization

一年之计在于春，五一国际劳动节前后正是吉林省的春耕农忙时节。4月28日，我校组织30名留学生赴九台区九郊微雨众惠种植业家庭农场进行研学活动，带领留学生们走进田间地头，感受真实的中国农村发展状况、研学乡村振兴新模式。

The plan of the year lies in spring, and it’s the busy spring plowing season in Jilin Province around the International Labor Day. On April 28, NENU organized 30 international students to visit the family farm of Weiyu Zhonghui in Jiutai District, leading them to go into the fields, experience the real Chinese rural development and study the new model of rural revitalization.

本次研学活动的目的地微雨众惠种植业家庭农场2023年入选了农业农村部第四批新型农业经营主体典型案例，同时也是2022-2025年度长春市科普教育基地。一到农场，同学们就受到了九台区科学技术协会工作人员和农场总经理郭艳芳的热情欢迎，他们带着同学们参观果蔬温室大棚、讲解农场的经营模式和种植经验，解答同学们提出的问题。大家还到农场正在耕种的农田里体验了现代化农具，亲自播种，感受劳动的快乐。活动的最后，郭艳芳经理为同学们讲述了自己在国家政策的鼓励下返乡创业、在九台区科协和相关政府部门的支持下逐渐扩大经营并带动村民共同致富的励志故事。郭艳芳就是中国乡村振兴政策扶持下成长起来的具有新思想和新观念的新农民的缩影，她的经历让留学生们对于中国乡村振兴有了更加全面和深刻的认识。

The destination of this study trip, Weiyu Zhonghui Family Farm, was selected as the fourth batch of typical cases of new agricultural business subjects by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in 2023, as well as one of the Changchun science education base for 2022-2025. Once arrived at the farm, the students were warmly welcomed by the staff of Jiutai District Science and Technology Association and the general manager of the farm, Guo Yanfang, who took them on a tour of the fruit and vegetable greenhouses, explained the business model and planting experience of the farm, and answered the questions raised by the students. The group also went to the farm fields to experience the modern farming tools, sowing seeds themselves and feeling the joy of labor. At the end of the event, Manager Guo told the students her inspiring story of returning to hometown to start her own business under the encouragement of the national policy and gradually expanding her business and driving the villagers to get rich together with the support of Jutai District Science Association and other government departments. She is the epitome of a new farmer with new ideas and concepts growing up under the support of China's rural revitalization policy. Her experience gave the international students a more comprehensive and profound understanding of China's rural revitalization.

微雨众惠种植业家庭农场总占地面积47.8公项，建有保鲜库2座、日光温室大棚65栋，还有一个农产品全领域注册商标。微雨众惠种植业家庭农场不仅种植果蔬，经过最近几年的规划发展，已经成为了一个将农业与旅游、文化等产业深度融合多功能的现代化农场。总经理郭艳芳在2021年先后被评为长春市第十六届人大代表、吉林省乡村人才高级农经师，2022年获得省级返乡创业带头人等称号。

The family farm covers a total area of 47.8 hectares and has two fresh storage buildings, 65 greenhouses, and a registered trademark for all fields of agricultural products. The family farm not only grows fruits and vegetables, but also has become a modern farm with multi-functional integration of agriculture, tourism, culture and other industries after recent years of planning and development. Manager Guo Yanfang was successively awarded as the representative of the 16th People's Congress of Changchun City in 2021, senior agricultural economist of rural talents in Jilin Province, and the title of provincial returning entrepreneurial leader in 2022, etc.

这次乡村振兴研学之旅开拓了留学生的视野，带领大家看见了立体全面的中国乡村。活动之后大家纷纷表达了自己的感想。以下是部分学生的感言。

The study trip of rural revitalization opened up the horizons of international students and led them to see Chinese countryside in a real and comprehensive. After the activity, everyone expressed their feelings. The following are part of them.

化学学院 巴基斯坦籍博士研究生 哈比卜KHAN HABIB

During this visit, I not only got close to nature, but also learned about China's rural revitalization policy which has narrowed the gap between urban and rural areas and promoted common prosperity. China's achievement in poverty alleviation recently has created a world miracle, which should be attributed to its comprehensive rural revitalization policy. As a big agricultural country, I am deeply impressed by its extensive land and abundant resources, advanced production concepts, comprehensive agricultural policies and comprehensive management. I like China and I would like to give it a thumbs up for its agricultural development.

My experience of visiting the family organic food farm in Jiutai was really eye-opening. It was an amazing opportunity to see how China's rural revitalization policy is being put into action and to learn about the benefits of organic farming. The dedication and hard work of the farmers were impressive, and they showcased the different methods they use to cultivate their crops, including the use of technology to improve efficiency while maintaining quality. It was impressive to see how they have integrated modern farming techniques with traditional methods.

I was also impressed by how the family organic food farm is promoting sustainable farming practices while also providing employment opportunities for local residents. It was clear that they take great pride in their work, and they were happy to share their knowledge and experience with us. The visit gave me a deep appreciation for organic farming and sustainable agriculture.

The migration of individuals from rural to urban areas has resulted in environmental issues and added pressure on urban management worldwide. To address this concern, one solution is to create more job opportunities in rural areas, meeting the needs of the people. Although science and technology have helped address the food crisis, the use of inorganic fertilizers, insecticides, and pesticides has led to life-threatening illnesses and negative effects on the environment and people's health. An effective approach to overcoming these problems is to use organic foods. During my trip to the family farm in Jiutai, I observed how family farming could successfully reduce poverty and develop rural areas. Farmers receive higher production and income, while the government introduces them to the latest technological advances and provides quality food for people. This is a mutually beneficial situation for both farmers and the government. The Chinese government also provides financial and technical support to those who want to begin a family farming business. This is an excellent opportunity for local students to gain hands-on experience and collaborate with their families.
